Outdoor street cleaning equipment perfect for events, Councils and public spaces.
In January 2026, one of our Hako Citymaster 1650 street sweeper scrubber helped prepare Parkes’ streets for the arrival of approximately 25,000 visitors attending the world famous Parkes Elvis Festival.
Before the town was awash with jumpsuits and rhinestones, the Citymaster was hard at work cleaning streets, footpaths and gutters, ensuring Parkes looked pristine ahead of one of Australia’s most iconic regional events.
Held every January to coincide with Elvis Presley’s birthday on 8 January, the festival has been running since 1993 and is officially ratified by Graceland. What began as a small celebration has grown into a major tourism draw, welcoming between 20,000 and 25,000 visitors each year. During festival week, Parkes’ local population of around 11,000 more than doubles, placing significant pressure on streets, public spaces and pedestrian areas.
As Elvis would say, “A little less conversation, a little more action,” and that action began well before the first jumpsuit appeared, with thorough pre-event cleaning to make sure the town was ready to shine.
Viva Las Parkes, the King has entered the building.
In preparation for the arrival of thousands of Elvis impersonators and fans, the Citymaster 1650 was deployed to clean streets, pavements, gutters and drains throughout the inner town area, including the high street and key pedestrian zones.
Leaf litter, debris and built-up grime were removed to ensure Parkes looked immaculate. With the festival drawing international attention, presentation is critical for both Parkes Shire Council and the local community.
Given the 24 hour nature of the festival, all cleaning was completed prior to the event to avoid disturbing attendees.

“Love Me Tender” precision. King-level power when it matters.
The Citymaster 1650 demonstrated both its power and precision when cleaning around the iconic Elvis statue at Cooke Park, which forms the heart of the festival.
Precision steering, low ground pressure and gentle operation meant it handled the task with ease. So agile and turf friendly, the machine can operate across grassed surfaces without causing damage, making it ideal for parks, monuments and heritage sites.
The Citymaster proved it can deliver powerful cleaning performance without compromising delicate surroundings.
